Matthew Ninan, M.D., FRCS
(CTh), FETCS, MSCI
Dr. Mathew Ninan is a General Thoracic Surgeon who is focused on thoracic oncology and thoracic transplantation. He completed his medical degree from India in 1988 and then trained in surgery in the United Kingdom. During this time, he also acquired early experience in thoracic surgery and transplantation. He then continued his training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and completed this in 1999. He then spent an additional year of Fellowship in Advanced Thoracic Oncology and Transplantation.
Dr. Ninan then took up a faculty position at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Here he developed an academic practice of thoracic surgery and transplantation for six years. He was also the Surgical Director of the Lung Transplant Program at Vanderbilt. During this time, he was also involved in thoracic resident training and completed a Masters in Clinical Investigation from Vanderbilt University.
Before joining UT Medical Group, Dr. Ninan practices with the Cardiovascular Surgery Clinic in Memphis, TN and co-founded the Mid-South Thoracic Multidisciplinary Clinic. Dr. Ninan is Associate Professor of Thoracic Surgery at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center where he is involved in resident training and other academic pursuits. Dr. Ninan believes in an individualized approach to patient care, and this is attested by his many grateful patients who have benefitted from his novel approach to management of thoracic cancers. |
